Manitoba Issues More Invitations For Provincial Immigration
Manitoba issues more invitations for provincial immigration via the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP).
The province gave preference to applicants who completed their education within Manitoba and foreign workers possessing skills aligned with local workforce needs.
Draw Results
The MPNP held two draws on July 10, inviting applicants via two of its immigration pathways:
- Skilled Worker Stream
- International Education Stream
A combined total of 67 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAA) for provincial nomination were distributed through these draws.
Of the 67 LAAs, over 29 were issued to individuals who declared a valid Express Entry profile number as well as a job seeker validation code.
| Stream | Number Of Invitations Issued | Cut-Off Score |
| IES | 40 | N/A |
| SWS | 27 | 673 |
International Education Stream
As Manitoba issues more invitations for provincial immigration, the province also invites international student graduates of Manitoba institutions through the Graduate Internship Pathway (GIP).
Applicants obtained an LAA if they declared that they met all GIP criteria, including:
- Having completed a master’s or doctoral degree program in Manitoba within the past three years
- Having completed a Mitacs or Accelerate internship within an eligible industry and research enterprise in Manitoba
- Meeting a Canadian Language Benchmark level 7
GIP applicants must be Manitoba residents at the time of application and should submit a Career Employment Plan that substantiates potential for professional advancement in the province.
Skilled Worker Stream
The MPNP invited 27 applicants from the SWS, under either the Skilled Worker in Manitoba pathway or Skilled Worker Overseas pathway, who indicated in their profiles that they were invited by Manitoba under a strategic recruitment initiative.
Additionally, applicants needed a score of at least 673 to have been invited in this draw.
The 27 LAAs issued to eligible applicants were done so through the following strategic recruitment initiatives:
| Strategic Recruitment Initiative | Number Of LAAs Issued |
| Employer Services | 3 |
| Francophone Community | 2 |
| Regional Communities | 4 |
| Ethnocultural Communities | 18 |
What Is A Strategic Recruitment Initiative?
Strategic recruitment initiatives assist Manitoba employers who require skilled workers in recruiting foreign talent.
Moreover, employers should meet the eligibility requirements for their open positions and complete Manitoba’s ABC Recruitment Process to participate. Once approved, they can submit international applicant details to Manitoba Employer Services.
On the other hand, applicants need to meet certain eligibility criteria, including language skills, work experience, education, and age, along with unique conditions tied to the stream they are selected for.
If an applicant shows stronger ties to a different Canadian province/ territory, they might be considered a retention risk, potentially leading to a refusal from Employer Services or the MPNP itself.
