Newfoundland Invites Candidates In The Latest Draw
Newfoundland invites candidates in the latest draw, i.e., Newfoundland and Labrador has held a new provincial immigration draw, inviting over 240 candidates to apply for immigration. The draw took place on March 30, 2026, and marked the province’s second selection round of the year.
Invitations were issued through two main programs: the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) and the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP).
Overview Of The Latest Draw
In this round, a total of 245 invitations were issued across both programs. Most of these invitations were given to candidates under the NLPNP, making up about 85% of the total.
| Program | Number Of Invitations Issued |
| NLPNP | 209 |
| AIP | 36 |
The Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism (OIM) in Newfoundland and Labrador has not shared details about which specific streams were used under the NLPNP.
When compared to the first draw held earlier in the month on March 6, this round issued fewer invitations.
So far in 2026, Newfoundland and Labrador has issued a total of 690 invitations through both programs. Out of these, 571 invitations went to NLPNP candidates, while 119 were issued under the AIP.
Looking back at last year, the province held its first draw on April 3. At that time, 206 invitations were issued under the NLPNP and 50 under the AIP. This shows that in 2026, draws started earlier and included more candidates.
For example, the first draw of 2026 issued 445 invitations in total, with 362 through the NLPNP and 83 through the AIP.
Expected Nomination Numbers For 2026
At the time of this update, the province has not officially announced its nomination allocation for 2026.
However, based on past trends, it is possible to estimate the expected numbers. In 2025, Newfoundland and Labrador received a total of 2,525 nomination spaces after a mid-year increase from the federal government.
Out of these, 2,050 nominations were given under the NLPNP, while 475 were allocated to the AIP.
In 2026, most provinces and territories have received nomination allocations equal to or higher than their final 2025 numbers. Some regions also received increases during the year.
Based on this pattern, it is likely that Newfoundland and Labrador may receive at least 2,525 nomination spaces in 2026.
How Candidates Can Get Invited?
Both the NLPNP and AIP have been using an Expression of Interest (EOI) system since February 2025.
To apply under these programs, candidates usually need a valid job or job offer in the province. The only exception is for certain entrepreneur streams under the NLPNP.
Candidates must first submit an EOI form. This form includes basic details such as:
- Occupation
- Education
- Language skills
- Plans to live in the province
After submission, the Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism reviews all profiles and selects the most suitable candidates.
Once selected, candidates receive an invitation to apply. After receiving this invitation, either the candidate or their employer must submit a full application.
Applicants are given 60 days to complete and submit their application. After submission, the application goes through a full review process.
EOI profiles remain active in the system for up to 12 months. If a candidate does not receive an invitation within this time, they must create and submit a new profile.Palina Immigration Consultancy, a Canadian immigration leader, promises excellence and tailored pathways for your Canadian journey.
