New Brunswick PNP issues invitations under three streams, i.e., the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program(NBPNP) released its first Invitations to Apply (ITAs) of 2026 through a series of draws held from January 13 to January 15.

Invitations were issued under three immigration streams. All of these streams require applicants to have strong ties to New Brunswick.

Draw Results

New Brunswick issued a total of 379 ITAs for provincial nomination in this round. Applicants were invited through the following streams:

  • New Brunswick Express Entry Stream
  • New Brunswick Skilled Worker Stream
  • New Brunswick Strategic Initiative Stream

The cut-off date and time for all Expressions of Interest (EOIs) submitted for this draw was January 12 at 11:59 p.m. Atlantic Standard Time.

Of the 379 total invitations, around 64% were issued under this stream.

About this stream: The New Brunswick Skilled Worker Stream is meant for skilled foreign nationals who are currently working in the province or have a job offer from a New Brunswick employer. However, this draw focused only on two pathways.

To qualify under the New Brunswick experience pathway, applicants had to meet all of the following requirements:

  • Have lived in the province for the last six months before submitting an Expression of Interest
  • Be currently working full-time in a non-seasonal job for a New Brunswick employer willing to support the application
  • Have a minimum of six months of work experience with that employer

To qualify under the New Brunswick graduates pathway, applicants had to meet all of the following requirements:

  • Have completed a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP)-eligible study program at a DLI, i.e., designated learning institution in New Brunswick
  • Be currently working full-time for a New Brunswick employer willing to support the position, or have a valid full-time, non-seasonal job offer

This draw is significant because this stream has been paused since January 2025. The province had stopped accepting new EOIs under this stream due to having enough applicants in its system.

There were no draws under this stream during 2025. This marks the first time in more than a year that applicants have been selected through this stream.

About this stream: The New Brunswick Strategic Initiative Stream is designed for French-speaking foreign nationals who have strong ties to the province. These ties may include previous work experience in New Brunswick, a valid job offer, graduating from a recognized Francophone institution in the province, or living in New Brunswick while working for a Canadian employer.

To be selected under the New Brunswick Francophone priorities pathway, applicants needed to meet at least one of the following conditions:

  • Have previously lived in New Brunswick and completed at least one year of in-person study at Université de Moncton or Collège communautaire du Nouveau-Brunswick (CCNB)
  • Have obtained a Letter of Interest from Immigration New Brunswick.

New Brunswick Express Entry Stream

About this stream: The New Brunswick Express Entry Stream is for skilled foreign nationals who already have a profile in the federal Express Entry system.

To qualify under the Employment in New Brunswick pathway, applicants had to meet the following requirements:

  • Have lived in New Brunswick for the past 12 months
  • Be currently working full-time in a non-seasonal job in the TEER category 0, 1, 2, or 3 for a New Brunswick employer
  • Have worked full-time for the same or a different New Brunswick employer for the past 12 months in a TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 position

Applicants who successfully receive a provincial nomination under this stream gain 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points in their Express Entry profile. This greatly improves their chances of receiving an Invitation to Apply for permanent residence (PR) from the federal government.
