British Columbia Invites Skilled Workers For Nomination
On September 24, the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP) invited 714 workers to apply for provincial nomination and pursue Canadian permanent residence.
The province selected 426 skilled workers with high-paying job offers and 288 candidates who achieved competitive scores under its ranking system.
Invited candidates have 30 days to submit a complete nomination application. Successful nominees can apply for permanent residence through the federal government.
Eligible candidates in Canada may also qualify for a Bridging Open Work Permit after submitting their permanent residence application.
Draw Details
The province issued invitations based on job offers and registration scores during its latest selection round.
| Selection Criteria | Details | Invitations Issued |
| Wage/salary + job offer | TEER 0–3 job offer, with an offered wage of at least $52/hour and $105,000/year. | 426 |
| Registration score | Minimum of 131 points | 288 |
The selection was aligned with British Columbia’s ‘Innovate’ objective, which supports skilled workers across different occupations and sectors.
This was the province’s eighth selection round under this objective in 2026. It also issued the highest number of invitations among its Innovate-focused draws this year.
The province does not disclose the occupations or sectors of candidates selected under this objective.
As of September 24, British Columbia had issued 3,974 invitations based on job offers and registration scores in 2026. Across worker and entrepreneur categories, the province had invited at least 6,128 candidates.
Future High-Economic-Impact Selections
Future invitations may consider several factors beyond wages and registration scores, including:
- Education level, field of study and place of study.
- Professional designation in British Columbia.
- Length and skill level of work experience.
- Language proficiency.
- Occupation.
- Job offer wages and skill level.
- Intention to live and work in a particular region.
- Provincial labour market needs, projects and strategic priorities.
Candidates who receive invitations can apply for provincial nomination. Successful applicants may then apply for permanent residence.
British Columbia has an allocation of 6,254 nomination spaces for 2026.
Skills Immigration Pool
Foreign nationals must register an Expression of Interest profile to enter the Skills Immigration selection pool.
The province assigns each candidate a score based on their profile and places them in the relevant registration pool. It then holds periodic draws to invite candidates who meet the requirements and selection criteria.
As of September 1, the Skills Immigration pool contained 8,013 profiles.
