Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has invited more candidates to apply for permanent residence through the Express Entry system.

On September 28, 2026, the department issued 733 invitations to apply (ITAs) to candidates who had received a provincial nomination.

Candidates needed to meet the following requirements to receive an invitation:

  • Have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 725.
  • Have created an Express Entry profile before 1:36 a.m. Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) on September 17, 2026.

Provincial nominees receive additional CRS points through their nomination, which can significantly increase their overall score in the Express Entry pool.

Express Entry Draw Summary

The latest selection was the second provincial nominee draw held in September. It followed the September 14 round, in which IRCC invited 576 provincial nominees with a minimum CRS score of 734.

The September 28 draw issued 157 more invitations than the previous provincial nominee round. It also recorded the largest invitation round for provincial nominees since late June 2026.
