Prince Edward Island holds a new draw for skilled workers, i.e., Prince Edward Island has conducted another provincial immigration draw, inviting more than 100 foreign workers and international graduates to apply for provincial nomination.

The latest draw took place on May 21 under the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP). A total of 114 invitations were issued to candidates working in sectors and occupations that are currently in demand across the province.

This marks the fifth draw held by PEI in 2026. The province has continued its pattern of issuing more than 100 invitations every month this year. PEI has also stayed closely aligned with its public draw schedule, offering immigration candidates a clearer idea of when invitations may be issued.

Draw Details

The PEI PNP issued 114 invitations through two immigration pathways:

The province focused on candidates already working in PEI in sectors that are considered important to the local economy and labour market.

International graduates from the following post-secondary institutions were also given priority:

  • University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI)
  • Holland College
  • Collège de l’Île

PEI has used the same selection approach in all five draws held this year. The province continues to prioritize candidates who are more likely to help meet local workforce shortages and support economic growth.

The latest draw also followed PEI’s planned invitation schedule. Out of the five draws held so far this year, four were conducted on the dates listed in the province’s public schedule. Only the March draw was held one day later than originally planned.

Prince Edward Island remains the only province or territory in Canada that publicly shares its expected immigration draw dates in advance. This gives immigration candidates more transparency while planning their move to Canada.

So far in 2026, PEI has invited 477 candidates to apply for provincial nomination.

If the province continues following its published schedule, the next draws are expected on June 18 and July 16, 2026. However, PEI has clarified that these dates are tentative and may change.

How Candidates Can Apply Through The PEI PNP?

Foreign nationals interested in immigrating through the PEI PNP must first create an account on the province’s immigration website and submit an Expression of Interest (EOI).

Once submitted, the province reviews profiles and ranks candidates based on their ability to meet local labour and economic needs.

Several factors are considered under the PEI EOI system, including:

  • Language proficiency (English or French)
  • Education: level, field of study, & location of completion
  • Level of skill and work experience
  • Strategic priorities: attributes that address urgent labour shortages in PEI
  • Other employment-related factors, including job offers and Canadian work experience

Candidates can log into the EOI system at any time to check updates or changes to their profile status.

Applicants who receive an ITA must submit a full application for provincial nomination within 30 calendar days. Previously, candidates had 60 days to complete this step.

After receiving a provincial nomination, candidates can then apply to the federal government for Canadian permanent residence.

PEI continues to use its immigration system to attract workers and graduates who can support the province’s long-term labour market and economic needs.
