Alberta holds the second-largest immigration draw of the year, issuing a combined total of 1,125 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for provincial nomination across two draws.

Applicants were selected based on a mix of the following factors, i.e., their established ties to Alberta, their ranking according to the AAIP’s scoring system, or their professional experience in priority healthcare occupations.

Draw Results (November 10-14)

The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) issued invitations through two different streams, with varying scores and draw sizes:

Date StreamInvitations issued Minimum score
November 10, 2025Alberta Opportunity Stream1,045 55
November 14, 2025Alberta Express Entry Stream – Priority Sectors (Health Care)8052

The AAIP’s November 10th draw marked the second-largest selection the AAIP has held this year ( and the largest since September 12), when the province invited 1,113 applicants to apply for provincial nomination.

The Alberta Opportunity Stream is an immigration pathway under the AAIP for temporary foreign workers already residing and working full-time in Alberta.

To qualify, applicants should have a full-time job offer from an Alberta employer in an eligible profession, hold a valid work permit, & meet minimum eligibility criteria regarding residency, occupation, language, education, Alberta work experience, and job offer conditions.

Of all AAIP’s immigration streams, the Alberta Opportunity Stream has the single largest nomination allocation, totalling more than 3,656 spots.

As of November 19, the province issued 3,120 nominations through this pathway, with 536 nomination spots remaining out of its 2025 allocation. The AAIP still has 1,100 applications awaiting processing in its inventory for the Alberta Opportunity Stream.

On November 14, the AAIP held another immigration selection under the Alberta Express Entry stream, focusing on priority sectors, i.e., namely healthcare. This is the second such draw to take place this year.

As of writing, the AAIP has issued 494 nominations through priority sector draws under the Alberta Express Entry Stream. These draws have a total allocation of 660 nomination spots in 2025.

The Alberta Express Entry stream is an enhanced Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) pathway, meaning that it is Express Entry-aligned. In practice, the AAIP can nominate eligible applicants from the Express Entry applicant pool through this pathway, allowing them to settle in the province should their nomination be approved.

Within the Express Entry stream is a dedicated pathway for professionals with experience in in-demand sectors of the Alberta economy, including construction, agriculture, aviation, and healthcare. This is in addition to dedicated pathways that the province runs under the Express Entry stream for law enforcement, technology, and healthcare workers.

Increased Nomination Spots In 2025

As Alberta holds the second-largest immigration draw of the year, let us discuss about the increased nomination spots this year.

The AAIP recently obtained an increase to its provincial nomination allocation from the federal government for 2025, increasing its cap by 1,728 more spots from the previous limit of 4,875 nominations, to a new total of 6,603 nominations.

With this boost, Alberta has regained roughly 67% of its total allocation of 9,750 nominations, partially restoring the capacity it had before last year’s cuts.

The province made clear that this allocation would not carry over into 2026, suggesting that the AAIP would have to utilize this increase throughout the remainder of the year in more immigration draws.
